Aidan Orias

Hi! I'm Aidan, a junior at UC Berkeley studying Mathematics and Computer Science. I'm also on the track team where I run the 60m, 100m, 200m, and 4x100m.

I hope you enjoy this collection of my projects, work, passions, and plans for the future.

Philosophy

I'm a strong believer that building a strong foundation is the key to success in whatever domain you choose to pursue. My grounding in this philosophy is what I attribute my success across track, gaming (Top 500 NA in Overwatch), academics, and anything else I find success in to. My coaches have always said to practice things until you can't get them wrong; I agree with this, but I think it misses part of the story. To put yourself in the best position possible, doing isn't just enough. You have to understand how each piece that you practice to perfection fits into the larger puzzle of the end goal.

In sprinting this could mean being able to cycle your ankle over your knee in maximum velocity mechanics, but also knowing that the reason this is correct is because it grants the optimal footpath for both stride frequency and force production, which translates to stride length and thus velocity.

Not just doing things, but doing things right is at the utmost of importance to me. Being intentional with your time and efforts is what I believe brings the greatest success.
